Little Green Apricots

Green Apricot Fruit

New little green apricots coming up! Isn’t it nice how even at this early stage they already have their lovely blush?

It looks like we may have a decent crop this year. I am dreaming of jam and apricot tarts… If everything goes well in about a month and a half these little green fruits should be plump and golden, ready to pick.

I’ll keep you posted!

Lovely apricots! We have an apricot tree, but it never had any fruit on them. It flowers, but no fruit. I was told that it is planted in a place where it has no protection from north winds, so this is a problem. It is a big tree now, so we can’t move it anymore.

    I love apricots!

If you like apricots a lot, maybe you have another spot where you can plant a new tree? You’ve got such a beautiful orchard!

There is no more room for trees! Otherwise I would plant already. And this one I just can’t remove, as it was growing for 10 years in a shadow of apple trees and remained a small tree. Now when we have gave it some space, it stated to grow finally. It deserves a few years of nice growth, even thought if it will be without any fruit.

Yes, it deserves an opportunity to enjoy nice growth. My best wishes for mild north winds. Maybe, just maybe, if the winds are favorable form time to time the tree will get some fruit :-)

I love apricot, it’s one of my favorite stonefruit. We have an apricot tree at the other house, but it never set fruits, I was told it needs 2 trees to pollinate, I didn’t know that when we planted it 7 years ago, we don’t stay in that house anymore, so I’m not going to bother with another tree.

I’ve also planted trees with bad results because there was some key aspect that I didn’t know about at the time I purchased the tree. It happens some times. Now my attitude is that if a fruit tree doesn’t give me fruit, I will research a better suited variety and replace it. Even if my heart breaks.
